W.F. West made the most of all 10 seniors starting against Rochester on senior night as the Bearcats came away with a 6-0 victory over the Warriors in 2A Evergreen Conference action Thursday.

“It’s always exciting to have this many seniors stick around all four years, and as a coach it makes me feel great,” W.F. West coach Allen Anderson said. “They came out with tons of energy and it was one of our better team performances. The chemistry was excellent.”

One of the biggest highlights was senior Olivia Remund scoring a hat trick in less than four minutes, notching three-consecutive goals in the 50th, 52nd and 54th minutes to give the Bearcats a 6-0 lead.

“That was one of the fastest hat tricks you’ll see,” Anderson said. “Pretty awesome to see on senior night and have that kind of run.”

Also scoring for the Bearcats was senior Kaylynne Dowling from an assist by fellow senior Maddy Casper in the fifth minute. Casper notched a goal of her own in the 20th off an assist by senior Elizabeth Patana. And junior Cameron Sheets stole a Rochester kickoff, dribbled downfield and scored also in the 20th minute to round out the scoring.

The Bearcats used excellent ball movement to outshoot the Warriors, 17-1.

Rochester’s Erin Huriavi was named the Warrriors’ Woman of the Match.

“Hard playing the teams at the top of the league,” Rochester coach Ken Matthews said. “As I've said before, we have some good minutes but aren’t able to sustain them enough. We’ll keep playing and seeking that first win.”

Rochester (0-10, 0-7 league) hosts Aberdeen on Tuesday. W.F. West (8-2, 7-1 league) has a makeup game at home against Shelton on Tuesday.
