Finishing fourth among a 62-team field, the W.F. West boys wrestling team had a great showing at the annual Pac Coast Wrestling Championships at Hudson’s Bay in Vancouver Thursday and Friday.
The Bearcats finished with two champions, as Daniel Matagi won the 285-pound crown and Blake Ely continued his hot streak and took home the 152-pound title.
Other placers for the Bearcats included Cristo Parriott, who finished eighth in the 138-pound bracket, and Tucker Land, who finished fourth in the 182-pound tournament.
W.F. West as a team finished behind just 3A Stanwood, 4A Union, and 4A South Kitsap.
