Bearcats Cap Off Undefeated Regular Season With 12th-Straight Win

The red-hot W.F. West boys tennis team delivered a 6-0 thumping to Black Hills to remain undefeated on the season and run its win streak to 12 matches on the road Friday in Tumwater.

No. 1 singles standout Justin Chung also stayed unbeaten with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Black Hills’ Josh Do.

“Really good day for Justin,” W.F. West coach Jack State said. “Josh Do is a big hitter and he can drive the ball. It was a strong showing that shows where Justin is right now.”

In No. 2 singles Javyn Han also stayed undefeated on the season with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Dylan Browne. In No. 3 singles, Andrew Boggess defeated Dylan Nguyen, 6-0, 5-0.



On the doubles side, undefeated duo Joseph Chung and Aaron Boggess had no trouble defeating Lane Calvery and Parker Anderson, 6-1, 6-0, in No. 1 doubles.

Hans Meier and Bryce Kuykendall defeated Caleb Mellum and Colton Mellum, 6-2, 6-0, in No. 2 doubles. And in No. 3 doubles, Nathan Walters and Christian Patana defeated Ezra Harris and Zach Beals, 6-1, 6-1.

That marks the end of dual meets for W.F. West as the Bearcats next head to sub-districts at 3 p.m. Monday. The singles tournament is at Tumwater High School and the doubles tournament is at Black Hills High School.
