The W.F. West girls basketball team came away with another blowout win on Wednesday, as the Bearcats dismantled Prairie 66-28 to improve to 8-0.
W.F. West led by 21 after the first and 33 at halftime, and they continued to dominate to trigger the running clock in the fourth quarter.
“Before the season, we talked about building chemistry as a group and trying to figure out how to play together,” W.F. West coach Kyle Karnofski said. “We're still working on that, but it's come a long way in the month since we've started. That's a really cool sign for us.”
Julia Dalan and Dilyn Boeck continued to lead the way offensively, combining for 48 points. Dalan added 22 rebounds and blocked eight shots, while Boeck added six assists and three steals.
“They play well together,” Karnofski said. “They do a good job playing off of and sharing the ball with each other.”
Kaitlyn Chloupek added eight points, Rhylee Beebe scored six, and Grace Simpson logged four.
Amanda Bennett didn’t record a point, but she did tally eight assists, five rebounds, and three steals.
“When she starts kicking it ahead like that, good things start to happen,” Karnofski said of Bennett. “A lot of it is under the radar, but she’s a big part of what we do.”
The Bearcats will have the next week off before taking on Tahoma in their first game at the Top of the Peak Tournament at Glacier Peak High School on Dec. 26.
