The W.F. West girls basketball team earned its seventh win in a row on Monday, running away with an 81-24 victory at Washougal.
“We just all played together,” W.F. West coach Kyle Karnofski said. “Our girls did a good job competing as a group tonight … I’m proud of them.”
The Bearcats stormed out of the gate to a 15-point lead after one, and they pushed the lead to nearly 40 before the halftime buzzer.
The success carried over into the second half, where they continued to add on.
Julia Dalan and Dilyn Boeck led the way offensively, combining for 44 points, and Kaitlyn Chloupek set a career-high with 18.
Sophomore Madi McManus and freshman Izzy Teeter also set varsity career-highs, as McManus added five points and Teeter scored four.
Rhylee Beebe added four points, and Grace Simpson and Madi Baine added three each.
“We shared the ball really well as a group,” Karnofski said. “The whole group played well … It was just a good all-around night.”
The Bearcats will look to make it eight straight at home against Prairie on Wednesday. After that, they’ll have a week off before facing Tahoma in their first game at the Top of the Peak Girls Basketball Tournament at Glacier Peak on Thursday, Dec. 26.
