Behind another strong outing from Kamy Dacus, the W.F. West softball team defeated Black Hills in a league bout Monday, 7-1.

Dacus went all seven innings, with just one earned run and 14 strikeouts and one walk. The senior also got more than enough run support to get the win, with Saige Brindle going 2 for 3 with a triple, a run scored, and three RBIs. Lena Fragner was 1 for 2 with a run scored, an RBI, and two walks drawn.

The Wolves got one run on Dacus in the sixth inning, but otherwise couldn’t get much going at the plate. Zoey Theophilus knocked in Black Hills’ only run and also pitched a complete game with seven earned runs on 11 hits with six strikeouts and three walks. Madison Parker also went 1 for 2 with a walk.

The Bearcats take on Centralia on Tuesday while Black Hills looks to Aberdeen on Friday. The Wolves also have to make up a game with Tumwater, which was rained out this Tuesday.
