August primary to include three Lewis County fire district propositions

Posted

In addition to a host of candidates for federal, state and local offices looking to qualify for the November general election, the August primary ballot will include three propositions from local fire departments.

The election is set for Aug. 6.

In the Napavine area, residents will vote on an emergency services levy for Fire Protection District 5. Around Packwood, residents will vote on a levy for fire protection and emergency medical services. Residents in the Riverside Fire Authority’s area will be asked for a lift in the fire property tax levy rate to $1.35 per $1,000 of assessed valuation for an additional six years.
