Chehalis and Centralia community members are encouraged to cheer on the participants of the 2025 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Washington on Tuesday, June 10.

“This annual event brings together law enforcement agencies across Lewis County to carry the ‘Flame of Hope’ and raise awareness and support for Special Olympics athletes,” event organizers stated in a news release.

Participants include personnel from the Chehalis Police Department, the Centralia Police Department, the Washington State Patrol, Chehalis Tribal Police and the Lewis County Sheriff's Office.

Community members are encouraged to attend and show support during the two scheduled downtown walks, one in Chehalis beginning at 10:35 a.m. in the 400 and 500 blocks of North Market Boulevard and one in Centralia beginning at 11:35 a.m. in the 400 and 500 blocks of South Tower Avenue.

Drivers in the downtown Chehalis and Centralia areas should expect temporary traffic delays during the event. Law enforcement will be present to manage safety and  minimize any disruption to local traffic, according to a news release.

Funds raised by the event support Special Olympics Washington’s year-round sports training and competitions for Special Olympic Athletes.
