Alfred Lyle "Spud" Anderson, 78, of Mossyrock, Wash., passed away at home Saturday, April lO, 2021. Spud, as he was known by everyone, was born May 22, 1942, in Chehalis, Wash., to Red and Lorna Anderson.
He was raised and lived in the Mossyrock area all his life. Attending Mossyrock school and graduating in 1961. He met Caroline Pilkenton in 1961, and they later married April 13, 1963. They had two children, Allison and Richard. He retired in 2005, from the family business, Andersons Berry Farm Inc. Spud was an avid sportsman and enjoyed his hunting trips with family and friends. He was active in many community organization. He was a member of the Mossyrock Volunteer Fire Department, Mossyrock Grange #355, and the Mossyrock Historical Society. He was past master of the Robert Morris Masonic Lodge #97 F&AM of Silver Creek, Wash. A member of the Afifi Shriners Fraternal organization and a lifetime member of the NRA.
Spud is survived by his wife of 58 years, Caroline; daughter, Allison; and son, Richard (partner, Lisa); grandchildren, Kelsi, Kayla, Hunter (Jaycie), and Phillip; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Red and Lorna Anderson; and sister, Jenelle Dunn.
Spud will be dearly missed by family and friends. He enjoyed meeting new people and visiting all.
A graveside service will be held at Doss Cemetery at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 24, 2021. Reception to follow at the Robert Morris Masonic Lodge in Silver Creek, Wash.
