The Grays Harbor Drug Task Force (DTF) arrested and charged a “major drug dealer” from Winlock as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation, according to a Sept. 27 news release from the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office.
According to the release, on Sept. 26, the task force made up of detectives from the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office, the Aberdeen Police Department and the Hoquiam Police Department executed a search warrant in the 200 block of Hawkins Road in Winlock.
The detectives were assisted by the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team (JNET) and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
“During the course of the investigation, Task Force detectives conducted several controlled purchases of illegal narcotics from the suspect, a 58-year-old male resident of Winlock,” the release stated. “The suspect had been identified as a major drug dealer impacting Grays Harbor County and surrounding communities. Prior to the execution of the search warrant, the suspect was taken into custody by Task Force detectives in the Maytown area.”
According to the release, the suspect was booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail and faces three counts of delivery of a controlled substance, one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and two counts of money laundering.
The detectives reportedly seized about 58 grams of suspected methamphetamine and $62,000 in cash.
“This investigation highlights the strong collaboration between our local and regional partners,” the release stated.
The Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office thanked JNET and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office for their support during the operation.
“We all remain committed to holding major drug dealers accountable and keeping dangerous narcotics out of our communities,” the sheriff’s office stated.
