Adna’s Salme, Rainier's Peralta wins district golf crowns

Adna’s Trevin Salme won the 2B District 4 Boys Golf Tournament at Mint Valley Golf Course on Thursday, shooting a 12-over 83 to finish the two-day event with a 158.

Salme built a big lead on day 1, shooting a 4-over 75, and he ended up besting Rainier’s Joshua Peralta by five strokes.

Peralta (163), Napavine’s Riley Griffith (167), and Rainier’s Thomas Sprouffske (174) rounded out the top four, securing state tournament berths alongside Salme.

Adna’s Alex Smith (fifth, 179), Preston Cardin (seventh, 189), and Brodey Luurs (eighth, 191) all finished in the top eight and qualified for Day 2 of the tournament. 

As a team, the Pirates topped the Mountaineers 48-30 to win the team title.

The 2B Boys State Golf Tournament will take place on May 20 and 21 at MeadowWood Golf Course in Liberty Lake.



Rainier's Lilyann Peralta wins Girls District Tournament

Rainier's Lilyann Peralta dominated the girls field at Mint Valley, winning herself a district championship by 16 strokes.

She finished with a 163 to lead the field.

Adna's Kalli Christen (fifth, 214), Lilly Naillon (eighth, 227), and Jaylee Humphrey (ninth, 229) all qualified for state as top-12 finishers, as did Rainier's Marian Jackson, who finished 11th with a 252.

The 2B Girls State Golf Tournament is also on May 20 and 21 at MeadowWood.
