The Adna baseball team polished off a perfect C2BL season on Friday, as the Pirates defeated Toledo 3-2 in their final league game.
Adna won all 16 of its league games, sweeping each of the other eight teams in the league.
It took some great pitching in Toledo, as Cameron Nakano struck out seven in five strong innings as the starter before Jack Pennington struck out four in two no-hit innings of relief.
Danner Hoinowski and Cash Smith both collected a pair of hits and drove in a run, and Ty Bodenhamer added two hits in four trips to the plate.
Eli Weeks logged Toledo’s only RBI as part of his two-hit day, and Rohan Feigenbaum also had two hits. Nico Acosta added a double and drew a walk in three play appearances.
Toledo (13-6, 11-5) ends its season third in the C2BL standings. As the league’s No. 3 seed, the Riverhawks will face Onalaska, the C2BL’s seven seed, in the first round of the district tournament next Saturday, May 10.
As the C2BL’s No. 1 seed, Adna (19-0, 16-0) will host the winner of a first-round matchup between Mossyrock and Raymond-South Bend or Forks at home on Saturday, May 10.
Before that, the Pirates will wrap up their regular season with a non-league matchup against Tenino at Centralia College on Wednesday night.
