Adna Girls, Toledo Boys Outdistance Competition at Pirate Classic

ADNA — Adna girls won by 12 points and Toledo boys took a 49-point victory as the two squads came out on top in the 11-team Pirate Classic at Adna High School on Tuesday.

Adna girls won the team score with 113 points, while Toledo was second with 91 and Morton-White Pass third with 78. Toledo boys won with 151 points, while Morton-White Pass was second with 102 and Onalaska third with 85.

Pirate senior Faith Wellander spearheaded Adna girls’ attack, winning the 100-meter hurdles in a personal record of 16.63.  She also ran anchor in the Pirates’ winning 4x400 relay (4:43.52), which included Lillian Wellander, Meili Wolf and Raegan Naillon.

Wellander added a second-place finish in the 300s (49.80). Naillon won the 400 in 1:07.47, and Lillian Boyd won the shot put (27-06.50) and discus with a PR (106-01).

Pe Ell’s Charlie Carper was a triple winner, easily capturing the 100-meter dash in a time of 13.49, the 200-meter dash in 28.77 and the long jump (14-09.5). She was also second in the 100 hurdles with a PR of 16.66.

Toledo was led by Paige Hill winning the 800 in 2:50.87 and Karley Harris winning the 1600 (6:08.07). Harris also ran a leg in the Riverhawks’ winning 4x200 relay along with Lyndzie Filla, Paige Hill and Jasmine Kemmerer in a time of 2:07.02.

Morton-White Pass’ Jordan Koetje won the 300 hurdles in a PR of 47.10, and ran the anchor in the Timberwolves’ winning 4x100 meter relay (55.36), which included Kately Gilstrap, Chloe Kelly and Amy Martinez. Miranda Sparks won the high jump with a PR of 5 feet even.

Onalaska’s Melissa Reiman won the 3200 in 14:02.70.

On the boys side, Wyatt Nef led the Riverhawks by winning three events. Nef won the javelin with a toss of 160-07, the long jump with a leap of 19-01.5 and ran a leg in the winning 4x400 relay along with Conner Olmstead, Carson Olmstead and Jordan McKenzie in a time of 3:37.22.



Riverhawk senior Joshhill Tilton won the discus (118-05) and was second in the shot put (36-05).

Toledo freshman Treyton Marty won the 3200 in a time of 10:50.29, and was third in the 1600 with a time of 5:00.22. Teammate Carson Olmstead won the 400-meter dash in 54.06.

Adna’s 4x100 relay of Tyler Price, Lane Johnson, Jaxon Dunnagan and Jacob Stajduhar won in a time of 49.13.

Winlock junior Payton Sickles was a double winner in the 100-meter dash with a PR of 11.81 and the 200-meter dash (24.44). Teammate Isaac Ramirez won the shot put with a PR of 45-10.

Pe Ell’s Carter Phelps won the 110 hurdles in a time of 16.71 and was second in the 300 hurdles in 43.93.

Onalaska’s Kole Taylor won the triple jump with a leap of 37-08, was second in the long jump (17-10) and third in the 100-meter dash (11.88).

Morton-White Pass freshman Hunter Brackett won the mile in 4:54.66. Teammate Kysen Collette won the high jump in 5-08.
