The Adna baseball team clinched the C2BL title on Monday, defeating Napavine 11-0 in five innings. The win also extended the Pirates’ win streak, which now stands at 17 games.
Danner Hoinowski pitched a complete-game shutout, striking out eight while allowing just four Tigers to reach base (two walks and two hits).
The Pirates led 5-0 going into the third, but they scored six in the fourth to break the game open. The biggest hit of the inning came from Owen Fagernes, who hit a two-run triple and later scored on an RBI single from Ty Bodenhamer.
Fagernes finished with three runs batted in, while Bodenhamer and Beau Miller also collected an RBI. Mat Roundtree didn’t record an official at-bat, but he did score three runs after drawing three walks.
Beckett Landram and Chase Shea tallied Napavine’s two hits.
Adna (17-0, 14-0) will look to cap an undefeated league season later this week, when it hosts Toledo on Wednesday before heading to Toledo on Friday.
Napavine (13-5, 11-3 C2BL) is currently tied for Toledo for second, and the Tigers will hope to secure a first-round bye in the district tournament later this week. They’ll host Onalaska on Wednesday before traveling to face the Loggers on Friday.
