Home runs by Alyssa Carroll and Brytin Dollarhyde allowed the Pirates to pick up an 8-1 non-league win over the Tigers on Friday afternoon. It was a game that rained out early in the season.
Adna (13-4) ran its winning streak to four games. Carroll deposited a pitch from Napavine’s Dakota Lyons over center field with two outs to give the Pirates a 3-0 cushion and they never trailed the rest of the way.
Dollarhyde’s three-run bomb came in the third. She had two hits alongside catcher Danika Hallom. Pitchers Avery LaFontaine and Teagan Baggenstos combined to allow one hit and retired six batters via strikeouts.
Napavine (11-4) lost for the first time in four contests. Paytin Wheeler notched the only hit in the lineup and Lyons recorded the RBI.
Both sides return to C2BL play with Napavine battling Rainier on Monday and Adna taking on Morton-White Pass on Thursday.
