The Oakville football team earned its first win of the season in dominant fashion Saturday, blowing out Taholah 70-0 on the road.

“It was an all-around great team win,” head coach Skyler Davis said. “We were able to get things going quickly both in the air and on the ground. I love the balance our offense has and the ability to create plays from six or seven guys.”

Eddie Klatush had a huge game on the offensive side of the ball, going 8 for 11 for 235 passing yards and four touchdowns while also gaining 88 rushing yards on three carries – all of which ended up in the end zone.

Two of those touchdown passes went to Haezen Cayenne, who finished with 89 receiving yards. Daniel Rodas caught a touchdown and had three other receptions, totalling a team-high 120 receiving yards. Ashton Boyd caught a 28-yard touchdown pass to go along with his 101 rushing yards and score on the ground.

Sean Pomme also reached the end zone with his legs. On defense, he racked up eight tackles and three sacks, and combined with Enrique Rivas to bring down a Chitwhin in the end zone for a safety.

Courtney Price had a team-high nine tackles, logged two sacks, and both forced and recovered a fumble, while Cayenne picked off a pass and sacked the quarterback twice.

“Our defense played lights-out through all four quarters, not allowing a first down until the final minutes,” Davis said.

Oakville (1-1, 1-0) is scheduled to face Evergreen Lutheran next Friday.
