The I-5 Toyota/Mountain Dew AA side got going at the Washington State Championship in winning fashion Saturday, coming back to beat Othello 8-6 at Burlington-Edison High School.

The Dewers trailed 4-0 midway through the second inning and 5-2 midway through the fourth, but came back to tie the game with a two-out rally in the bottom half of the frame thanks to knocks by Cal Bullock (Napavine), Conner Holmes (Napavine), and Ross Kelley (W.F. West).

Othello retook the lead in the top of the sixth, but I-5 Toyota answered back with another three-spot.

Ashton Demarest (Napavine) earned the win with 2 ⅓ innings of relief, allowing a run on one hit. Brady Sprague (Centralia) started the game for the Dewers and went 4 ⅔ innings, striking out two but walking six.

Kelley and Demarest both went 2 for 4 to lead the way at the plate.

I-5 Toyota will take on either Sedro-Woolley or Chewelah on Sunday.
