Triston Whitaker, Max Craig and Salvador Ontiveros each scored two goals a piece as Tenino extended its win streak to two matches with a 9-0 shutout over Raymond-South Bend Wednesday in Raymond.

“We worked yesterday on playing diagonal ball,” Tenino coach Kevin Schultz said. “I knew from watching film that we could attack them wide if we switched quickly.”

Craig’s first goal and both of Ontiveros’ goals came from wide play. Toby Suess started the scoring off in the fifth minute, followed by Whitaker’s first goal in the 18th minute. Chris Ramez then scored off an assist from William Tennehil in the 22nd minute, followed by Craig’s first goal in the 26th minute from an assist by David Espinoza and finally Zack Russell’s goal in the 37th minute off an assist by Ontiveros to make it 5-0 at the half.

Whitaker notched his second goal in the 48th minute, then Ontiveros’ nabbed both of his goals back-to-back in the 52nd and 54th minutes, the second assisted by Takari Hickle. Craig’s second goal in the 63rd minute finished off the scoring for the night.

Keeper Alex Reichelderfer recorded six saves on the night for the Beavers, who brought 25 kids on the trip and were able to get every one of them playing time.

“All in all, as a team, we played well,” Schultz said. “We’ve got a lot of different weapons. A lot of our guys with athleticism and speed gives us the ability to really go after teams.”

Tenino (2-2) hosts Montesano on Friday.
