Tenino rallied to tie it up in the bottom-of-the-seventh but Hoquiam was able to plate two runs in the eighth and hand the Beavers a 12-10 loss on Saturday in Tenino.

Trailing 10-9 in the bottom of the seventh, Tenino’s Chris Butcher smashed an RBI single that tied the game at 10-10. But Tenino surrendered two runs in extra innings and was unable to put more runs on the board in the bottom of the eighth.

“We were down the whole game, kept chipping away and kept coming back,” Tenino coach Ryan Schlesser said. “We like to put pressure on the other team.”

Brody Noonan finished 1-for-5 at the plate with three RBIs, while Butcher finished 1-for-3 with an RBI. Tenino tallied six hits as a team.

Kellen Knox threw five innings for the Beavers, striking out one and allowing five hits, Carson Hart tossed three innings with one strikeout.

“Both our pitchers did a nice job today,” Schlesser said. “They did everything we asked of them.”

Tenino falls to 0-6 and will hope to get one final doubleheader in on Tuesday at Elma in what would be the season finale for the Beavers.
