2B Boys Basketball: Chief Leschi Defense Puts Trojans on Ice

PE ELL — The Trojans couldn’t get their shots to fall here Thursday night as they fell 56-39 to Chief Leschi in a Pacific 2B boys basketball tilt.

Damien Roy led Chief Leschi with 12 points and Waklyan Cuny added nine points.

The Warriors posted double digit scores in every quarter but the second while Pe Ell posted single digit scores in every quarter but the third. In related news, the Warriors shot 43 percent on 53 shots from the field while Pe Ell managed just a 26 percent shooting percentage.

“They’re a solid offensive team. They hit shots. We just didn’t finish,” said Pe Ell coach Clayburn Lusk. “We had our opportunities, as you can see. We got 61 shots but only made 16.”



Max Smith posted a double-double with a game-high 15 points and 10 rebounds for Pe Ell. Joey McCalden added 10 points and five assists for the Trojans while Kollin Jurek scored six points and swiped seven steals.

Pe Ell (4-9, 3-8 league) will host Life Christian on Saturday.
