Letter to the Editor: Thanks to Columnist for Visit

Posted

I would like to commend Brian Mittge on his recent column “A Tale of Two Libraries.” Brian came to Toledo to visit our Community Library and wrote a very uplifting account of his visit. We are extremely proud of our volunteers and facility and felt Brian did a good job of portraying what we have managed to accomplish in our five years since the library opened.

One thing we would like to add to Brian’s comments is the uptick in help we have been receiving from TRL in the past year. There has been a definite increase in support and interest demonstrated by TRL. It started with a number of librarians coming to visit our facility and then was followed by contacts from the Winlock TRL asking if they could help us with programing. Aisha Bayness now comes on a regular basis to offer Story Time and Deb Petersen has three adult art classes in the coming months. They also paid for our recent visit from the Reptile Man which over 150 patrons enjoyed! Not only do they offer their time but they bring any needed material and make posters for publicity.

I would like to thank TRL, especially the Winlock branch, for all the support you have given to the Toledo Community Library. We certainly enjoy working with you.

Thank you.
