Letter to the Editor: Media to Blame for Creating Division in the US

Posted

Our nation is becoming more and more divided, and it is sad. I blame much of this divide on the constant barrage of racist, xenophobic, anti-LGBTQ and anti-Trump rhetoric coming from the major media outlets. I believe they are dividing our country far more than any disruption that may be caused by Russia, China or other county meddling in our affairs.

It is getting so bad, the director of agriculture for Florida’s comment, “Florida governor’s race so cotton-pickin’ important’” has been labeled a racist comment by major media. If these journalists would ever get out of their high-rise offices in New York, or San Francisco, they would know this Midwest term is the equivalent to, “Florida governor’s race is so damned important.”

The latest drama is the South American caravans heading to our southern borders. The president wants to protect our borders while others are screaming this is racist. I encourage all of you to watch this six-minute video that clearly demonstrates the “real” problem the world faces regarding the impoverished.

This 8-year old-video, filmed during the President Obama era, is not political. It is completely non-biased. The speaker provides a dramatic “visual” demonstration of how mass immigration could destroy our country.

Please go to YouTube and key in “Immigration, World Poverty and Gumballs - NumbersUSA.com.” It is important to select this video as a similar video has been poorly politicized.

I assure you, this video is enlightening and well worth your time. Share the link with your family and friends.
