United Way of Lewis County has launched a new group specifically designed to “harness the power of women’s philanthropy and volunteerism,” called “Women United.”

United Way of Lewis County has set a goal of lifting 30 percent of Lewis County residents out of poverty by 2030.

“Women United is an exciting opportunity to gather as women, make a difference in the community where we live and work, and support United Way at the same time,” states Women United President, Annalee Tobey.

Anyone with a passion for helping women and children living in poverty can join Women United, according to the group. There is no membership fee to join.

To learn more about Women United, attend the inaugural gathering themed “Wine & Wisdom” scheduled for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 18  at The Shire Bar & Bistro in Chehalis. The event is open to anyone and free to attend. For more information, go to www.womenunitedlc.com.
