PrimeLending, focusing on residential loans, recently opened a location in downtown Chehalis managed by Becky Carver, who has more than 20 years of experience in the loan business.

The Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting at the business on Monday.

PrimeLending offers residential loans to assist individuals in buying a home, refinancing, or with home renovations. Carver, branch manager and loan officer and McKenzie Kelly, loan officer, opened up the Chehalis PrimeLending branch together.

“Customer service sets us apart. We’re nice — we want to help people. We really help people with their credit,” said Carver on Monday afternoon after the ribbon cutting.

Carver said she started out in Centralia and operated there for about 10 years before moving to Chehalis into the old Hometown Escrow building on Kresky Avenue.

She was there for about five years, but felt that location was too secluded. Now at their new location in downtown Chehalis, Carver expressed her excitement to be in the busy downtown area.

“Our last location up on the hill by Midway Cinemas was a beautiful location but there was no life. We’ve already seen tons of foot traffic,” said Carver, who has been in the loan business for over 20 years.

The PrimeLending branch in Chehalis employs five people and Carver said they pride themselves on their customer service. She said that they understand that “life happens” and they want to help people. They help individuals with loans even if they don’t fit into a “cookie cutter mold.”

According to the Chehalis PrimeLending website the office offers a VA loan for military members and their families.

Carver and Kelly also operate out of a PrimeLending location in Lacey that they opened up about five years ago.

There were about 30 to 40 people in attendance at the PrimeLending ribbon cutting including Chehalis Mayor Dennis Dawes.

The Chehalis PrimeLending office is located at 470 North Market Boulevard across the street from the Edward Jones Investment building.
