Here I send you a picture of the beautiful highway between Centralia and Portland. I was down that way last Monday. We had some time through the mud holes. We are all all right and working in the shipyard. The signature on the postcard has been cut off. This so-called puncheon road used slabs from the mills to help eliminate the hazards of traveling through mud — unless, of course, drivers like this one went around them and got stuck.
