Sirens: Vehicle Stolen as Owner Disconnects Trailer; Roommate Assault; Burglary; Theft

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Burglary 

• Two Centralia subjects were arrested and released for allegedly breaking into an unoccupied building in the 2800 block of Russell Road at approximately 12:10 p.m. on Feb. 1. Burglary charges were forwarded to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office. 

 

Malicious Mischief 

• Damage to a vehicle in the 1100 block of West Pear Street was reported at approximately 2 p.m. on Feb. 1. 

• Damage to a vehicle was reported at the intersection of North Pearl and west Magnolia streets at 4:20 p.m. on Feb. 1. 

 

Theft 

• A Tacoma man was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for theft of a motor vehicle after he allegedly stole a vehicle in the 900 block of North Pearl Street while the owner was disconnecting a trailer just after 4:15 p.m. on Feb. 1. He fled from other agencies but due to Washington state laws, officers could not pursue the vehicle, according to the Centralia Police Department. The subject was eventually located and arrested in Cowlitz County.

• At 5:45 a.m. on Feb. 2, mail was reported stolen from mailboxes in the 100 block of Halliday Road sometime overnight. 

 

Assault 

• A Centralia man was arrested in the 700 block of North Tower Avenue just before 7:40 p.m. on Feb. 1 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault following a physical altercation with a roommate. 

 

Trespassed From Property 

• An Idaho man was arrested just after 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 2 in the 400 block of South Tower Avenue and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for first-degree criminal trespass. He allegedly trespassed at a business immediately after officers issued the trespass order. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Trespassed From Property 

• A male subject who was reportedly “masturbating by the dumpster” at a property in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 9:20 a.m. on Feb. 1 was trespassed from the property. 

• A subject accused of shoplifting from a business in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 8:55 p.m. on Feb. 2 was trespassed from the business. 

• A man who was reportedly doing drugs in the bathroom of a business in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 1:05 a.m. on Feb. 3 was trespassed from the property. 

• A subject reportedly trespassed at a business in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 7 a.m. on Feb. 3. 

 

Drug Violation 



• A juvenile was cited for possession of marijuana in the 1000 block of Southwest 20th Street at 9:45 a.m. on Feb. 1. 

 

Theft 

• A subject was cited for shoplifting a belt and a jacket from a business in the 1700 block of North National Avenue at approximately 11:40 a.m. on Feb. 1. 

• A case of shoplifting was reported in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 8:15 p.m. on Feb. 1. 

• A subject reportedly attempted to steal a leaf blower in the 1300 block of Northwest State Avenue just after 11:05 p.m. on Feb. 1. No arrests were made. 

• A pair of “youth training pants” and “something else, possibly another pair of pants” were reported stolen from a business in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 6:50 p.m. on Feb. 2. 

• Two subjects were cited for shoplifting from a business in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 7:10 p.m. on Feb. 2. 

 

Harassment 

• A case of harassment reported in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue at approximately 12:45 p.m. on Feb. 1 is under investigation. 

 

Dispute 

• A “family disturbance/dispute” reported in the 600 block of Northwest Ohio Avenue at approximately 5:50 p.m. on Feb. 2 is under investigation. 

• A physical dispute was reported in the 100 block of Southwest Fifth Street just before 8:40 p.m. on Feb. 2. 

 

Vehicle Accident 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 3:35 p.m. on Feb. 1. 

 

Disorderly Conduct 

• A disorderly subject reportedly assaulted someone in the 500 block of Southeast Washington Avenue just after 5:45 p.m. on Feb. 2. No arrests were made. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 151 inmates, including 140 in the general population and 11 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 104 were reported male and 36 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, nine were reported male and two were reported female.
