The Mossyrock School District is accepting applications for the position of superintendent to replace Larry Markuson, who served as superintendent for the past two years and will be resigning at the end of the current year, the district announced Tuesday.

The Mossyrock School District asks district staff, students, families and community members to partake in a community survey “to help the Mossyrock School Board of Directors and Northwest Leadership Associates identify the qualities and leadership profile that should be considered with the selection of our new superintendent,” the district said in a Facebook post announcing the superintendent search.

The survey is available in English at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Mossyrock23 and in Spanish at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MossyrockSpanish.

Markuson, a Montana native, started as Mossyrock superintendent on July 1, 2021, according to previous Chronicle reporting. He took over from interim superintendent Glenn Malone, who stepped up to temporarily serve in the role after former Mossyrock superintendent Dr. Lisa Grant accepted the superintendent position in the Centralia School District.
