SWW Rainy Daze Quilt Guild

Sept. 13 at Twin Cities Senior Center, 2545 N. National Ave., Chehalis; 6 p.m.

Social time begins at 6 p.m. while the program and meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Visitors are welcome.

 

Business After Hours

Sept. 15 at ToledoTel, 183 Plomondon Road, Toledo; 5 to 7 p.m.

Bonanza BBQ will be providing food and drinks will be available. Raffles will be held at this networking opportunity.

 

Economic Alliance Skills Competition

Sept. 15 at Riverside Golf Course, 1451 NW Airport Road, Chehalis; 5:30 p.m.

The event will be open to the public and include thousands of dollars in prizes. There will be three competitions for longest drive, a chipping contest and a putting course. The cost is $100 to enter all three competitions or $50 per category. Entry includes two raffle tickets and a drink ticket. There will be music, appetizers and two “no host” bars. The raffle prizes are a stay at the Ilani Casino’s “new” hotel and dinner for two at Michael Jordan’s steakhouse. Call 360-748-0114 to preregister.

 

Alliance Open Golf Tournament

Sept. 16 at Riverside Golf Course, 1451 NW Airport Road, Chehalis; 8:30 a.m.

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the shotgun starting at 10 a.m. There will be four sponsorship options ranging in price from $500 to $5,000. There will be a four-man scramble that includes lunch, prizes and raffle tickets.

 

ARTrails Opening Gala Reception

Sept. 16 at the Historic Train Station, 210 Railroad Ave., Centralia; 5 to 7:30 p.m.

ARTrails will be hosting its 20th Annual Studio Tour at its opening gala reception. The public is invited to come see the exhibition gallery, meet artists and enjoy food. The event is free and open to the public.

 

Tenino Railroad Day

Sept. 17 at the Tenino Depot Museum, 399 West Park Ave., Tenino; 10 a.m.

Festivities will include a ribbon cutting for the reopening of the Tenino Depot Museum’s caboose, historical exhibits and activities revolving around the railroad, local vendors, food and live entertainment, including a performance by the local Seattle band Seastar.

 

Mexican Independence Celebration

Sept. 17 at Klickitat Prairie Park, 125 W. State St., Mossyrock; 8 a.m.

The celebration will begin with a pancake breakfast at the Mossyrock Assembly of God Church from 8 to 10 a.m. There will be bike races at 10 a.m., a parade at 12 p.m., tug of war games at about 1:30 and a greased pole climb at 2:30 p.m. DJ music will be played in the afternoon and evening by Rafaga Cosena. Fireworks will be shown at dusk.



 

Jimmie’s Espresso 11-Year Anniversary Pop-Up Market

Sept. 17 at Jimmie’s Espresso, 200 S. King St., Centralia; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Free admission event with drink specials served all day. A pop-up vendor market will be present.

 

ARTrails Exhibition Gallery

Sept. 17 through 25 at Historic Train Station, 210 Railroad Ave., Centralia; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The exhibition gallery will be open daily with studio tours on the weekends of Sept. 17 and 18 and Sept. 24 and 25. The exhibition gallery and tours are free and open to the public.

 

Mussel and Lamprey Workshop

Sept. 17 at Stan Hedwall Park in Chehalis; 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Members of the public are welcome to join fish and wildlife biologists to learn about freshwater mussels and lamprey in the Chehalis Basin. Look for the Stream Team booth. This event is free and open to all. For more information, email Kenna.Fosnacht@lewiscdwa.com.

 

Chehalis Flying Saucer Party

Sept. 17 at Lewis County Historical Museum, 599 NW Front Way, Chehalis; 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

VIP tickets are available for $65.59 (including fees) and will include access to speakers Vince Ynzunza, Shanelle Schanz, Bob Antone, Joanne and James Clarkson, Maurene Morgan, Liminal Earth and Greg Long. Also included in the VIP ticket are a pass to a classic flying saucer film at McFiler’s Theater; 20% off food at McFiler’s; an event T-shirt, goodie bag and event poster; access to an exhibit on the influence of flying saucers at the Lewis County Historical Museum; and a one year membership with the Lewis County Museum.

 

Dia De La Independencia

Sept. 17 at the Transalta Commons at Centralia College; 2 to 6 p.m.

A free latino cultural event featuring traditional dances, mariachi and free food. There will be various activities for children, such as balloons, face painting, a movie and more.

 

Cornhole and Sausage Fest

Sept. 17 at Dick’s Brewing, 3516 Galvin Road, Centralia; 1 to 8 p.m.

Only individuals ages 21 and over may attend. Early registration is $30 per team while day-of-event registration will be $40 per team. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the cornhole tournament will begin at 2 p.m. Proceeds will go to benefit the Rob Fuller Scholarship Fund.
