Third-Graders Cleanup

On Friday afternoon, third-graders from Centralia Christian School celebrated Earth Day by picking up litter left from a former homeless encampment. City of Centralia’s Kim Ashmore and Neil Hoium came to the school and taught the students how to safely pick up litter. At the cleanup site, students were given safety vests, hard hats and gloves. Accompanied by staff and parents, the students went to work and filled 18 bags with litter. Teacher Krista Bosman said she was pleased with the fun learning experience and the blessing it is to be able to help make Centralia be just a bit more beautiful.
