Swede Day Queen to Be Crowned on June 4

Coronation of the Swede Day Queen will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at Swede Hall, 18543 Albany St., Rochester.

The girls competing for the crown and their parents are Matilyn Ashton (Jody and Matt Ashton), Natalie Bethune (Sandy and Jason Bethune), Eliah Laramie (John and Angela Laramie), Kyra Letteer (mother Alesa Miller, grandmother Carol Miller) and Caitlynn Morris (Bridget Morris).

The court will represent the Grand Mound-Rochester area in local parades and events, including Swede Day, which will be on June 18.

Scholarships for last year’s Swede Day Royalty Court will be presented at the coronation.



Supporting the scholarships are McFarland Cascade, Grand Mound Edward Jones branch, Lucky Eagle Casino, Hinkle Homes and Bailey’s IGA.

There will be the traditional homemade strawberry shortcake and beverages as well as live music at the coronation.

 Cost is $3, plus one Swede Day button (available for $1 at the door).
