This is a sad day for Lewis County. Shop’n Kart carried many items that other stores do not, in addition, Shop’n Kart would special order items and help the elderly shop by pushing their carts or collecting groceries. I will miss them.

Speaking as a candidate for city council, or if you prefer, speaking as an average moron and habitual cyclist, I wonder at the idea it is the local governments’ responsibility to accommodate Seattle to Portland Riders. While I can easily see the way to open Schaefer or Riverside or Borst parks to overnight camping (one night only, restrooms there, barbeques that way, grocery down the pike) I am taken aback by the notion the government might write checks.

This fee is paid by the rider as part of his/her fee to ride the event. No funds are given by the city for this.

Ahh, the charreada! Although bullfighting might be closer to the heart of traditional Mexico, I’d much prefer this as a window into the rich culture of a great people. Hope I can make the next one. I’d gladly take in a night of lucha libre wrestling, too.
