Sewing for the Fair

Brenda Nysen and Marjorie Gutieres, residents at Providence Place in Chehalis, show items they will be displaying at this week’s Southwest Washington Fair.  They have made these items over the last year. Nysen and Gutieres are part of a group called The Bare Threads, whose other members are Dianne Phillips, Ruth Guild, Carleen Hymen, Maria Fitzgerald and Debbie Hartley. Melody Bradley, a local volunteer, came once a month to teach the women sewing techniques. The Bare Threads will be selling the items at a yearly bazaar Nov. 3-4 at Providence Place.
