On Brazil Trip, Claycamps Visit Site That Has 275 Falls on the Iguazu River

Editor’s note: This is another of Centralia resident Hank Claycamp’s periodic articles about his trips around the world.

Hi folks, this is Hank with The Divine Lady Linda on special assignment in the Mato Grosso and the Pantanal area of Brazil.

Brazil is so huge we couldn’t see it all in seven weeks so we chose the best animal spotting area and the best guide in that part of Brazil.

I painted a picture of Julino and his old Toyota Land Cruiser.Julino took us out to spot  giant anteaters, ocelots, parrots, caimans and jaguars.

I sat on top with a 3,000 candle power light so I got every bug imaginable in my teeth.  Not much zika virus in that area but there was everything else.

All the water from the pantonal eventually drains to the Parana river and heads south along Paraguay and meets Argentina at the falls at Iguazu, which consists of 275 falls along the Iguazu River.

We also went to Rio de Janiero and climbed Sugar Loaf and Christ the Redeemer.

All in all a pretty great trip but we had to come home and prepare for our next trip to Moscow and St. Petersburg and that end of central Europe.
