Comcast Gives Scholarship to W.F. West Student

As part of the Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program, the Comcast Foundation has awarded a $1,000 college scholarship to W.F. West High School student Hannah Cummings.

Cummings plans to attend the University of Idaho, Moscow.

The Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program provides scholarships to students who strive to achieve their potential, who are catalysts for positive change in their communities, who are involved in their schools, and who serve as models for their fellow students.

In addition to her academic excellence, Cummings made a significant contribution to W.F. West’s core/flex period, where students have time to get caught up or get ahead in their classes. When she heard news that core/flex was going away, Hannah Cummings led a team of student body members to present a plan to the school superintendent proving the period’s worth.

Cummings will be awarded the scholarship in a statewide ceremony on June 2 at the Governor’s Mansion in Olympia.
