The hot weather that overwhelmed Lewis County in the last few days was accompanied by a shroud of smoke, which came as a result of northerly winds. Wildfires in British Columbia have been blamed for the smoke. The haze nearly obscured the Centralia Steam-Electric Plant, which is located northeast of Centralia.
