Sickening beyond belief, and I do point the blame at the authorities/politicians who KNOW that we need more boots on the ground to protect our wildlife from deranged animal murderers such as this group of nitwits. Why would this Joseph Dills, who is a known poacher, ever be allowed to own a gun is beyond me. This kind of animal slaughter points to the need for much costly fines that are truly imposed, stiff jail sentences that are actually served (no leniency) and supervision of people who are caught poaching for LIFE, i.e. no hunting allowed ever again, no animal ownership of any kind, no gun ownership. These are the kind of people who can move onto homicide of humans, they have no compassion of respect for life. Just how this group was able to get away with such a long-term poaching/murder spree is unfathomable to me. Most certainly nobody was watching and they knew it. We taxpayers expect our natural resources to be protected — not for these beautiful and helpless creatures to be killed for “sport” and allowed to be tortured as they are dying. A three-month jail sentence and piddly fines will never stop these people — they will just get smarter about how they kill. I dislike the fact that the news reported just how they were caught, by their locations being found by their cell phones. Why would the news tell other poachers this fact? It only protects the killers, not the animals. Animal murder should be taken seriously, especially when it’s so thoroughly enjoyed by these sickos. It puts us all at risk to have this type of “human animal” living among us. And to know they brought their children with them to witness this gruesome “sport,” thus teaching them to do the same and not respect wildlife. The impact of losing animals in this way is disturbing on many levels. I for one am following this story very closely, and am expecting the legal system to punish this group severely, to an extent that they will never be able to poach again. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

There is so much divisiveness in America right now. I’d always thought the Jubilee was an event for the whole community, but Morton’s leadership has made it clear that’s not the case. It’s bad enough that a float was allowed that honored the cause that tore our nation apart in the 19th century, not to mention the 21st century president who is trying to divide us again. But for this float to be chosen by those organizing the Jubilee parade as especially worthy of honor by Morton was a travesty. It put the town’s official stamp of approval on something that was at best offensive to half the community and at worst an illegitimate endorsement of political opinions that happened to coincide with the parade organizers’ own. My family won’t be attending the Jubilee next year. Nor will we be enjoying the Brown Shack Tavern’s excellent burgers in the future. There are plenty of groups that keep partisan politics out of nonpartisan community events, and people who keep their political opinions to themselves — or who at least give all sides an equal voice. So until Morton commits to nonpartisanship, we’ll take our business and civic participation elsewhere.

These are human beings were talking about; being homeless is not a crime and housing is a human right. People should never be arrested because they have the human need to rest, sleep or live. They are not criminals; they are someone’s child, someone’s brother, sister, mother or cousin, and whether we think so or not it could happen to anyone of us. It could happen to you. Some of these people have been out there since they were children and no nothing better. To bust them out and weed them out and criminalize them until they just cannot survive anymore is wrong because we have other major cities busting their people here it is a cycle of criminalisation. These are human beings, not criminals. Some of them have criminal records, some of them are mentally ill, some of them are sickm some of them just need to be loved. If we as a community cannot rise up and help our friends without homes, well then I guess we’re not a community. Our friends without homes are humans deserving safety and the basic essentials to live and survive for our human needs, no matter who we are. No matter what we’ve done, we deserve a safe place to rest our heads, food in our bellies and a place to call home
