Rose Marlton, Chehalis, will be celebrating her 100th birthday Sunday with a party given by her children.
Marlton was born June 6, 1917, in Wilson, Michigan, and has lived in this area for 62 years. She was married to her husband, Curtis Marlton, for 52 years. He died in 1999.
Marlton was a good friend of restaurant owner Mary McCrank, and worked as a waitress at Mary McCrank’s Dinner House for 20 years.
She loves gardening and, according to a daughter, “bakes the best banana bread around.”
Her children and their spouses are Janet Balmelli, Olympia; Ken (Marie) Lutes, Chehalis; Bonnie (Jack) Quist, Spokane; and Cathy (Dave) Batchelor, Chehalis.
