Birthdays: Boone, Brannan

Daniel Boone

Daniel and Juanita Boone, Ethel, are having a combined birthday/anniversary celebration 2-5 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at the Cowlitz Prairie Grange.

Daniel will be celebrating his 90th birthday, and the couple also will be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary.

On May 3, 1925, Daniel was born on the Boone homestead on Lacamas Prairie north of Toledo.

The couple were married June 8, 1945, in Toledo. Daniel worked for the Lewis County Road Department and Juanita was a housewife.

The Boones’ children and spouses are Greg (Jeri) Boone, Adna; Midge (Randy) Davis, Rainier, Oregon; Peg (Ted) Beaver, La Pine, Oregon; DeHart (Sandy) Boone, Toutle; Carol Henwood, Galvin; and Mickey, deceased, (Lewis) Zion, Napavine.

The Boones also have 16 grandchildren and more than 30 great-grandchildren.

The celebration will be a luncheon with cake. Those attending are asked to bring memories and anecdotes to share.

Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Brannan

Elizabeth “Betty” Brannan, Salkum, will be celebrating her 80th birthday noon-4 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at the Salkum Fire Hall.

Brannan was born May 11, 1935, at Salkum, and has lived her entire life in the area. She attended Mossyrock schools.

Brannan was an EMT for the Salkum Fire Department for 29 years. She enjoys collecting blue glass and attending garage sales.

Her husband is John Brannan.
