Don and Barbara Castle, Centralia, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary June 2 at their home while their daughter, Connie Dunn, was visiting from Alice Springs, Australia.

The couple were married July 3, 1948, in Centralia.

Don was born and raised in Centralia, and graduated from Centralia High School. He was a pastor in the Church of the Nazarene for 35 years in Oregon, Idaho and Washington. Barbara assisted him as a pastor’s wife in various roles.

Don enjoys fishing, hunting, gardening and hiking, while Barbara enjoys crafts, puzzles and reading.

Their children and spouses are Connie (Robert) Dunn, Alice Springs, Australia, and Neil (Margaret) Castle, Port Angeles. They have four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Larry and Bonnie Nelson



Larry and Bonnie Nelson, Napavine, formerly of Randle, will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, June 29, in Chehalis with friends and family.

They were married June 22, 1963, in San Rafael, Calif.

The couple will be renewing vows and exchanging rings that the bride’s parents, Bob and Betty Currey, exchanged on their 50th wedding anniversary.

Larry, now retired, was a sheriff’s deputy, truck driver, volunteer coordinator for the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office and investigator for the Prosecutor’s Office.

Bonnie is a retired elementary teacher.

Larry’s hobby is flintknapping and Bonnie’s is enjoying her grandchildren.

Their children and spouses are Kurt (Kristina) Nelson, Port Orchard; Erick (Courtney) Nelson, Williston, N.D.; and Kym Nelson, Milton.

The Nelsons have 10 grandchildren.
