Originally scheduled for last month but postponed, new Chehalis Fire Chief Adam Fulbright’s formal badge pinning ceremony and reception have been rescheduled to June 12, according to a news release from the city.

The reception will be held from 4:30 to 5 p.m. in the city council chambers at Chehalis City Hall, located at 350 N. Market Blvd. in downtown Chehalis. Then, once the regularly scheduled city council meeting begins at 5 p.m., Fulbright's badge pinning ceremony will commence.

“With experience in most areas of the fire service and a reputation as a dedicated member of the firefighting community, he has demonstrated the ability to lead an organization effectively by emphasizing service through teamwork and professional commitment,” the city stated in the release.

Fulbright has more than 30 years of experience as a firefighter and previously was fire chief for East Grays Harbor Fire and Rescue. He has already been working as Chehalis’ fire chief full time since May 15, according to the release.

“In his short time with the city, Chief Fulbright has already been actively involved in the work needed to advance a proposal to purchase a (new) ladder truck,” stated the release.

Fulbright’s original ceremony was postponed due to a death in Fulbright’s family.
