Driver Hits Bear Outside Oakville

A driver hit a black bear on U.S. Highway12 outside of Oakville at

about 8:20 a.m. Wednesday, according to Washington State

Patrol.

The driver was a 49-year-old woman from Montesano driving a 2006

Chrysler Crossfire.

The bear was believed to be injured but ran in the woods and could

not be found.

The Washington State Patrol could not provide more details of the

exact location of the crash because the incident did not warrant a

full report, according to Trooper Krista Hedstrom.
