It came down to the final match of the night in a non-league dual wrestling meet between Centralia’s Austin Lucht and Montesano’s Kenny Koorad at 285 pounds.

With 0.2 seconds remaining on the clock, Lucht pinned Koorad to help the Tigers earn a 40-39 team victory in Centralia on Wednesday.

Centralia’s Eddie Matias (132) won by pin over Lucas Salstrom and Justin Lake (145) pinned Montesano’s Joel Pine.

Caleb Hylton (170) also won by pin over Montesano’s Mason Lutz. Centralia’s Juan Gaspar (120) won 16-5 over Cooper Johnson. Daniel Tekle (152) and Mike Myer (220) each earned wins by forfeit for the Tigers.

Centralia coach Scott Phillips gave the Tiger of the match honors to Lucht for his big victory to give the Tigers the team win.

“He was giving up 70 pounds and kept up battling until he wore out the Montesano kid to pick up the pin with 2 tenths of a second left on the clock,” Phillips said. “We had a pretty decent crowd and they got loud when we needed them to. Caleb Hylton, Justin Lake, and Eddie Matias looked dominant tonight as well. We are happy with the overall effort of the team and we are going to work to improve every day.”

Alex Hicks-Avron (126) lost in a close match to Aaron Lano, 8-7. Yael Martinez (138), Trevor Richey (160), Elliot Nye (182) and Sawyer Vogel (195) all fell by pin for Centralia.

Centralia competes next at the Pat Alexander Invite at 9 a.m. on Saturday in Tumwater.
