ONALASKA — Onalaska scored 10 points in the first quarter and held on the rest of the way to earn a 42-35 win over Toutle Lake in a non-league girls basketball game here on Wednesday.
Carmen Cleveland-Barrera recorded a double-double with 10 points and 17 rebounds. Callie Lawrence led the Lady Loggers with 14 points and six steals.
Alex Cleveland-Barrera grabbed nine rebounds and Adalee Sabin picked five pockets.
Casey Wentz led all scorers with 19 points for the Ducks.
Onalaska crashed the boards against Toutle Lake, 52-38.
The Lady Loggers jumped out to a 20-5 lead after one quarter and expanded the lead to 29-9 at halftime.
Toutle Lake made a charge in the second half, outscoring Onalaska 26-13, but couldn’t quite complete a comeback.
“I think we had a great first half. The girls did a great job in their full court press. They forced a lot of turnovers of Toutle Lake,” Onalaska coach Dracy McCoy said. “We need to get in a little better shape. We had easy missed tipped shots, missed free throws. They were tired.”
Onalaska (2-1) travels to Winlock on Friday for a non-league game.
Winlock Takes Down Kalama
WINLOCK — Winlock’s Addison Hall recorded a double-double and the Cardinal defense was solid in a 39-33 win in a non-league girls basketball game here on Wednesday.
Hall scored 26 points, including making 12 of 16 from the charity stripe, and grabbed 14 rebounds. Jenna Jones added three points and 11 rebounds.
Akura Rocha led the Chinooks with 18 points.
Winlock led 12-8 after one quarter, with Winlock coach Tori Nelson calling it the “best quarter of Winlock basketball I’ve been a part of.” Nelson was very pleased with the defense of Azhia Camps on Rocha, forcing her into tough shots.
The Chinooks came back and were down 21-20 at halftime. Winlock outscored Kalama 18-13 in the second half to claim the victory.
Nelson also praised the performance of Hall, calling her a ‘beast’ on offense and defense.
Winlock (2-1) hosts Onalaska on Friday in a non-league game.
Pe Ell Edges Life Christian
TACOMA — Pe Ell’s Carolann Baldwin and Katie Davis each had a double-double to pace the Trojans in a 35-31 win over Life Christian in a Pacific 2B League girls basketball game here on Wednesday.
Baldwin scored 13 points and had 13 rebounds and Davis added 10 points and 14 rebounds.
Naja Whitehead had 13 points to lead Life Christian.
Pe Ell dominated on the boards against Life Christian with a 42-29 advantage.
The Eagles won the first half with an 18-14 lead at halftime. Pe Ell dominated the third quarter, outscoring Life Christian 12-4 to take a 26-22 lead going into the fourth quarter. Each team scored nine points to help the Trojans hang on for the win.
“Getting the win is certainly something we’ll always take. They have yet to be playing to their full potential. We’re still in the process of working out the kinks,” Pe Ell coach Chris Phelps said. “I’m very happy they get to enjoy this one but we’ve still got a lot of work to do. It was nice to get a win and on the road at that. We’ll learn from some of the things we could have done better.”

Wahkiakum Blows By Mossyrock
MOSSYROCK — The Lady Vikings made just seven field goals in a 69-20 loss to Wahkiakum in a non-league girls basketball game here on Wednesday.
Andee Nelson led the Vikings with nine points and Jenny Brockway scored five points and grabbed four rebounds.
Paige Mace led the Mules with 16 points and Jansi Merz added 12 points.
Wahkiakum led 27-2 after one quarter and kept it going in the second quarter to lead 49-10 at halftime, allowing the Mules to cruise to the win in the second half.
“They’re a really good team. They came out ready to play and were pressing us with pressure we hadn’t seen,” Mossyrock coach Autumn Moorcroft said. “We had way too many turnovers. We weren’t very aggressive or looking to score, that hurt us in the long run.”
Mossyrock (1-1) hosts Napavine on Friday in a non-league game.
Toledo Cruises Past Morton-White Pass
TOLEDO — Kal Schaplow scored 15 points to lead Toledo to a 54-20 win over Morton-White Pass in a non-league girls basketball game here on Wednesday. Haleigh Holmes and Marina Smith had four steals, Greenlee Clark added eight rebounds and Gracie Madill chipped in three assists.
Stacie Spahr recorded a double-double with 10 points and 16 rebounds.
Jacie Dunlap led the T-Wolves with 11 points.
Toledo’s defense gave MWP problems, with the Indians leading 17-4 after one quarter and expanding the lead to 33-7 at halftime.
“I thought we played really well defensively. I think our intensity was better and our rotations and communications were better than Monday,” Toledo coach Brian Layton said. “Haleigh Holmes did a good job of containing Dunlap. Spahr was a monster on the boards, offensviely and defensively.”
Toledo (2-1) travels to Wahkiakum on Friday for a non-league game while MWP (1-3) travels to Adna on Friday for a non-league game.
Centralia’s Cold Shooting Night Leads to Loss Against Elma
ELMA — Centralia made just seven shots here on Wednesday night to fall 67-23 to Elma in a non-league girls basketball game.
Centralia’s Jayden Hawley and Hannah Porter each scored five points and Makayla Erickson grabbed nine rebounds.
Jalyn Sackrider scored 15 points to lead the Eagles.
The Tigers shot 15 percent from the field while Elma shot 38 percent.
Elma led 23-9 after one quarter and kept it going in the second quarter to lead 38-16 at halftime.
“They’re a very good 1A team.We played Monty too and I would give them the notch. Their full-court pressure forced us into a lot of turnovers. We were in a 12-0 hole right off the bat,” Centralia coach Doug Ashmore said. “We rushed some shots and struggled from the field. It was a tough night for us but we played all 32 minutes.”
Centralia (0-3) hits the road to face Tenino in a non-league game on Friday.
Pirates Sail Past Tigers
NAPAVINE — Adna held Napavine to three points in the first quarter and never looked back, earning a 66-31 win in a non-league girls basketball game here on Wednesday.
Adna’s Payton Aselton scored 24 points to lead all scorers. Natalya Marcial scored 10 points for Napavine.
The Pirates led 11-3 after one quarter and continued to play well in the second quarter for a 32-21 lead at halftime.
“Adna did a good job tonight. They played with a lot of energy and executed their stuff really well,” Napavine coach Shane Schutz said. “They took it to us. We will learn from it though. We didn’t back down, we just got beat by a better team tonight.”
Adna (1-0) hosts Morton-White Pass on Friday in a non-league game while Napavine (0-3) travels to Mossyrock on Friday.
