Wednesday's Prep Cross Country: Lima Second, Erickson Fourth at EvCo Championships

TUMWATER — W.F. West’s Francisco Lima finished second and Centralia’s Makayla Erickson placed fourth as the highest local finishers at the Evergreen 2A Conference Championship cross country race at Pioneer Park here on Wednesday.

In the girls race, Erickson finished with a time of 21 minutes, 33 seconds. W.F. West’s Savannah Johnston finished fifth with a time of 22:12.

The W.F. West girls finished second as a team with 55 points. Tumwater won the girls team title with 34 points.

Centralia’s Brynna Rooklidge placed sixth, completing the race in 22:19 and W.F. West’s Riley Johnston earned 10th place in 23:07.

W.F. West’s Xylia Warner (23:37) finished 12th. Rochester’s Hazel Belknap (24:13) was the highest finisher for the Warriors in 17th place and teammate Gabriella Holman (24:36) finished in 18th place.

W.F. West’s Lydia Briggs (24:49) finished 19th and Centralia’s Tawnee Craig (25:01) rounded out the top 20 in 20th place.



In the boys race, Lima finished second with a time of 16:33. Black Hills’ Pearse Popchock won the race in 16:25.

W.F. West finished third as a team while Tumwater won the boys team title.

Henry Robbins finished in fifth for the Bearcats with a time of 17:05. Rochester’s Casey Reese (17:28) finished 13th and W.F. West’s Myles Johnston (17:37) placed 15th.

Centralia’s Cameron Moore (17:39) was the highest finisher for the Tigers in 16th place. William Taylor (17:41) finished in 18th for the Bearcats and Centralia’s William Brown (17:49) took 19th place.

Centralia, Rochester and W.F. West will compete next at the District 4 1A/2A Championships next Thursday at Lewis River Golf Course in Woodland.
