Wednesday's Prep Cross Country: Centralia Girls Place Second at EvCo Meet

The Centralia girls finished in second at a three-team Evergreen 2A Conference cross country meet at Borst Park in Centralia on Wednesday.

Leading the way was Makayla Erickson, finishing in third with a time of 22:26.21. Teammate Brynna Rooklidge placed eighth with a time of 23:47.64.

Tawnee Craig (26:29) placed 15th and Kendra Sutton (26:56) earned 17th place for the Tigers.

Black Hills’ Maggie Wood-Richardson won the race with a time of 21:51.

On the boys side, Centralia’s Williams Brown finished in eighth with a time of 18:20.38. Teammate Cameron Moore was right behind Brown in ninth place with a time of 18:27.56.

Pearse Popchock of Black Hills won the boys race.

Centralia races next at the Three Course Challenge in Warrenton, Ore., on Saturday.

W.F. West Finishes Second at EvCo Meet



TUMWATER — The W.F. West boys and girls each placed second at a three-team Evergreen 2A Conference cross country meet here on Wednesday.

W.F. West’s Francisco Lima placed second with a time of 17:04.35 and teammate Henry Robbins placed third with a time of 17:22.8.

Rochester’s Casey Reese finished seventh in 18:06.76 and Seth Moceri placed 10th in 18:31.46.

W.F. West’s Nathan Briggs (18:46) took 11th and teammate William Taylor (18:54) earned 13th. Rochester’s Levi Jennings (18:47) finished 12th and Jamison Cody (19:08) finished 15th for the Warriors.

On the girls side, W.F. West’s Savannah Johnston placed third with a time of 23:21.33 and Xylia Warner earned fourth with a time of 23:27.49.

Rochester’s Hazel Belknap (24:58) finished 11th and teammate Gabriella Holman (25:03) finished 12th. W.F. West’s Lydia Briggs (25:04) earned 13th and Riley Johnston (25:17) took 15th for the Lady Bearcats.

W.F. West travels to the 23rd Curtis Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 29 and Rochester is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Toutle Lake Invitational.
