Wednesday's Cross Country: W.F. West Sweeps Team Titles at Swamp Cup Meet

The Bearcats won both the boys and girls team titles against Centralia at an Evergreen 2A Conference cross country meet at Borst Park in Centralia on Wednesday.

In the boys race, W.F. West’s William Taylor won with a time of 18 minutes, 13 seconds. Teammate Myles Johnston took second place with a time of 18:14. Centralia’s Cameron Moore finished in third place with a time of 18:50.

Francisco Lima finished fourth for the Bearcats in 19:01 and Elias Stehr placed fifth for the Tigers in 19:58.

In the girls race, Centralia’s Brynna Rooklidge won the race with a time of 23:23. W.F. West’s Elaina Koenig earned second place with a time of 24:39 and Iris Van der ploeg took third place in 24:49.

Xylia Warner (24:51) finished fourth and Riley Johnston (25:06) finished fifth for the Bearcats.

W.F. West will travel to the Brooks Fort Steilacoom Invitational on Saturday while Centralia will travel to Oregon to compete in the Three Course Challenge at Camp Rilea on Saturday.



Rochester’s Jennings Wins at EvCo Meet in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN — Rochester’s Levi Jennings was faster than everyone else here on Wednesday earning the win in an Evergreen 2A Conference cross country race.

Jennings completed the race in 18 minutes, 13 seconds. Ocosta’s Dylan Todd finished second with a time of 18:27 and Aberdeen’s Joel Nelson placed third with a time of 18:51.

Rochester’s Jaegan Reese placed seventh with a time of 20:17 and Hunter Morgan placed 10th with a time of 21:00.

Rochester is back in action next Wednesday, hosting W.F. West and Tumwater in an EvCo meet.
