Wednesday's Boys Basketball: Ocosta Offense Puts Pe Ell to Bed

Posted

PE ELL — The Trojans couldn’t keep pace with Ocosta here on Wednesday as they dropped their season opening boys basketball affair by a score of 57-32.

Pe Ell trailed by just two points after one quarter but the Wildcats outpaced the Trojans 17-3 in the second quarter to earn a lasting advantage. Pe Ell connected on 14 of 46 shots in the contest and just one of seven free throw attempts.

“Our first and third quarters we played pretty well. Got some ball movement. The second and fourth though we did not play offensively well. Pretty inconsistent,” said Pe Ell coach Clayburn Lusk.

Cole Hatton, Kobe Rudolph, and Omar Luque all scored 14 points for the Wildcats in their win.

On the flip side, Kollin Jurek and Jeremiah Yost each scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds in the Trojans loss.

“We’ve got to work on getting better ball movement and executing, which is a sign of the beginning of the year,” noted Lusk. “We play hard, we’ve just got to get more effective at what we do.”

Pe Ell (0-1) will travel to Chief Leschi on Friday.
