Wednesday's 2A Track & Field: W.F. West Cruises To Team Titles at Swamp Cup Dual Track Meet

The Bearcat boys and girls each won the team titles at an EvCo Dual Track & Field meet at Bearcat Stadium in Chehalis on Wednesday.

W.F. West’s boys won 133-12 and the girls won 125-24 over Centralia.

On the girls side, W.F. West’s Jade Ennis-Palmer won the 100 (13.34) and the shot put. Lauren Tornow won the 100 hurdles (15.91), 300 hurdles (48.32) and the shot put (16-00). Kendra Bottenberg won the discus (109-04) and the javelin (116-09).

Emma Thornburg won the 200 (27.66). Kelly Robertson earned the win in the 400 (1:04.86) and Emma Moon captured the title in the 1600 (5:52.89). Savannah Johnston won the 3200 (14:35.41).

The 4x100 relay team (Ennis-Palmer, Thornburg, Robertson, Courtney Bennett), the 4x200 relay team (Gracie Ericson, Thornburg, Robertson, Bennett) and the 4x400 relay team (Bennett, Robertson, Thornburg, Tornow) all earned wins.

Isabella Landers won the high jump (4-04) and Megan Flexhaug took the title in the pole vault (9-06).

Centralia’s Makayla Erickson won the 800 (2:26.16) and Anastasia Ulrigg won the triple jump (32-06.50).

On the boys side, Colby White earned three wins in the high jump (6-02), long jump (19-11) and the triple jump (41-07). Connor Russell won the 110 hurdles (16.41) and the 300 hurdles (42.94).

Jasper Ellingson won the 100 (11.45) and Ka’imi Henry won the 200 (23.33). Carver Brennan earned the win in the 400 (52.14) and Sonny Holub won the 1600 (4:45.51). Francisco Lima won the 3200 (10:33.97).

The 4x100 relay team (Troy Yarter, Brennan, Henry, Ellingson) and the 4x400 relay team (Dallas Taylor, Jack Mallonee, Ellingson, Henry) each earned victories.

Zachary Sloan won the shot put (45-02.25) and Joseph Wylam won the discus (112-11). Nickolas Crawford won the javelin (144-04) and Thomas Koenig took the title in the pole vault (13-00) for the Bearcats.

Centralia’s Daniel Morales won the 800 (2:14.16) and Vance Voetberg placed second in the 400 (54.04).

W.F. West and Centralia travel to Washougal on Friday for the Panther Invite.



Rochester’s Pasko, Ahmath Win Multiple Events at EvCo Meet

ROCHESTER — Rochester’s Kelin Pasko and Sufina Ahmath each won multiple events at an EvCo Dual Track meet with Aberdeen here on Wednesday.

Pasko won the 1600 (4:48.65) and the 3200 (10:31.81). Ahmath won the long jump (14-07) and the triple jump (31-03).

Gerardo Sanchez Carpio won the 100 (11.62) and finished second in the 200 (23.17). Daniel May took the title in the javelin (149-00).

Rochester’s 4x100 relay team of Michael North, Connor Haskins, Patrick Riley and Ian Lupardus won with a time of 46.34 seconds.

Seth Moceri finished second in the 800 (2:14.08), Ian Lupardus took second in the 110 hurdles (19.21) and Jaden Martenson earned second in the 300 hurdles (52.35). Austin Mendoza picked up a silver in the shot put (38-05) and Chris Latham took second in the triple jump (37-04).

Kate Peltier won the high jump (4-04) and Michala Lowry won the 3200 (14:57.83) and finished second in the 1600 (6:28.06) for the Warriors.

Kaelee Murphy won the 100 hurdles (18.90) and Smbaikaye Huriavi finished close behind in second (18.99). The roles were reversed in the 300 hurdles, with Huriavi taking first (55.70) and Murphy finishing second (58.12).

Gabby Holman earned second in the 3200 (15:44.57).

Winlock also competed in the meet. Bryce Cline won the high jump (5-06) and finished second in the 400 (58.89). Noah Patching won the 800 (2:12.66).

Azhia Camps took first place in the javelin (77-08) and Maggie Howsden placed second in the triple jump (28-10) for the Cardinals.

Aberdeen won the boys and girls team titles.

Rochester is back in action on Tuesday at the Bob Atwell Invitational, while Winlock is also back on the track on Tuesday at a Central 2B League meet in Morton.
