Toutle Lake Too Much for Morton-White Pass

Jaiden Linder pitched the whole game for MWP, striking out two batters while allowing just two walks.

“She pitched a good game. She threw strikes,” MWP coach Rob Hazen said.

At the plate, Sydney Brooks was 2-for-3 and Taylor Hazen was 2-for-3, including a solo home run in the second inning for the T-Wolves lone run of the game.

Toutle Lake’s Sienna Rudd was 3-for-3, Keely Studebaker-Smith was 2-for-4 and KJ Rogge was 2-for-3 with a triple.

MWP scored the first run on the game in the second, but the lead was short lived as Toutle Lake scored two runs in the bottom of the inning before plating two more runs in the third. The Ducks tallied four runs in the fourth before completing the scoring with two runs in the fifth.

“I thought we hit the ball the first couple innings. She (Jasmine Smith) threw straight fastballs and we didn’t attack enough,” Hazen said. “We made routine plays at the beginning. We’ve got some young people in some positions. We’ll be better at the end of the year.”
