Luke Walters defeated Timberline’s Jonathan Eason in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles action, W.F. West’s Colin Slattery and Caleb Walters won in straight sets against Trent Copeland and Jeremy Gregory, 6-0, 6-3. Jacob Blomdahl and Christian Iverson took down Aaron Kelley and Seiji Naotsuka in the No. 2 doubles match, 6-1, 6-1.

Timberline’s Alex Dimico and Jason Pham spoiled the Bearcats’ perfect day with a win over Andrew Boggess and Jacob Moeckel in three sets, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

“Timberline is a new team, a lot of new players. I thought our kids played pretty well,” W.F. West coach Jack State said. “The strength for us this year is we’re pretty good from top to bottom. We don’t really have any glaring weaknesses. It was a good first match for us, a good one to start with.”

W.F. West (1-0) travels to Ridgefield on Thursday for a non-league match.
